• Content is written in markdown, which makes it easier to edit. Many people who can figure out where to place punctuation can learn markdown in a day or two.
• Build times for most small business and personal sites are less than 1 second in most cases, and can be uploaded to practically any webhost. Including Ionos (which easily supports Hugo sites)
• Security, uploading of changes can be secured using SFTP and certificate authentication if desired. Also there is no live login screen for potential malicious actors to try to bruteforce.
• Resources - Since Hugo puts out a static site, it hardly takes any horsepower to serve, meaning, lightning fast performance on cheaper hosting plans.

Cons:

• A little more difficult to edit and post changes than a CMS like Wordpress.
• Comments have to be off-loaded to Disqus or serverless function
